Marc Wein

Assistant Professor, Harvard Medical School

Marc is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School. He is an endocrinologist with a clinical focus on osteoporosis and metabolic bone diseases. His research focuses on osteocyte biology and parathyroid hormone action. He likes cooking and playing Barbie with his daughters Emma and Lila.

Research Assistant

Chris earned a B.S. in Biochemistry from Brandeis University. He will be studying the role of salt inducible kinases in bone biology.

Sarah Goldfarb

Harvard undergraduate Student

Sarah is a Harvard College student who will be working with Dr. Kathy Tang on parathyroid hormone signaling in bone.

Courtney Mazur

Postdoctoral Fellow

Dr. Mazur earned her PhD in Bioengineering from the University of California, San Francisco. She will be working in Dr. Wein’s lab on molecular mechanisms that control osteocyte differentiation and function, with the ultimate goal of translating research findings into new treatments for osteoporosis and related bone diseases.

Rushi Patel

Harvard undergraduate student

Rushi Patel is an undergraduate student studying osteocyte development with Dr. Wang. Rushi enjoys climbing trees and Bollywood dancing.

Toshi Sato

Postdoctoral fellow

Toshi is a postdoctoral fellow in the Wein lab studying mechanisms of mechanotransduction in bone. He likes to drink beer and eat BBQ.

Katelyn graduated from Boston College with a B.S. in Biochemistry, and will be studying salt inducible kinases in bone biology.

Kathy is a classical pianist who loves kinases, osteocytes, and parathyroid hormone. 

Nicha Tokavanich

Orthodontics resident

Nicha is an orthodontics resident at Harvard School of Dental Medicine. She is studying the role of salt inducible kinases in tooth and jaw biology.

Shiv is an endocrinology enthusiast, hip-hop dancer, and tai chi practioner.

Shirley is a postdoctoral fellow whose interests include epigenomics in skeletal development and competitive ping pong. 

Yunshu Wu

Visiting student

Yunshu is a PhD student from West China School of Stomatology, Sichuan University, in Chengdu, China. She will be working on osteocyte development and PTH action.

Seanna Yoon

Postdoctoral fellow

Dr. Yoon earned her M.S. from the University of Toronto, along with a Ph.D. in Philosophy from the Graduate Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology, Canada.
